Former UP chief demands reduced speed limit
The former head of UP is demanding that the speed limit on the E18 between Grimstad and Kristiansand be reduced for safety reasons.
Øystein Krogstad, who has been in charge of the southern UP district, fears that there will be serious accidents on the stretch. In several places, the depth of the ruts has been measured to be well above the requirement of 25 millimeters, which is laid down in the agreement between the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and the operating company Agder OPS Vegselskap, according to Veier24.
The former head of UP fears that there will be serious accidents. "Hydroplaning, cars being thrown sideways in the ruts and sudden loss of forward visibility can cause serious accidents," he says.
- "We can't just sit and wait for a fatal accident to happen on this road," he thunders, according to Veier24.
